FARBIC SERIES
My Fabric series is ot only about exploring the way cloth interacts with the body and throughout the space of the composition, but I’m using the fabric in a way to help suggest weight, movement, and presence. In a sense, it makes the fabric feel as though it has a life of its own. The figures wrapped in these forms feel both protected and exposed, and I enjoy the tension that creates. I’m also thinking a lot about how color, shadow, and shape work together to create a mood and how the folds of fabric can guide the eye or create a sense of mystery. It’s a series that lets me experiment with texture, form, and the emotional impact of simple materials.
